Free Membership Site Training from WishList Member

wishlist-member-wordpress-plugin-membership-site-training-videosMembership sites are a great business model for online marketers, and this year there seems to be more buzz than ever about that topic.  There are business decisions about how to go about having a membership site, and then there are technical issues, such as what software is available for managing a membership site.  Stu McLaren and Tracy Childers developed a membership site plugin for wordpress which was reviewed here some time ago.  Now they are offering help to business owners who need to get there arms around everything membership sites, in a special video training series.

Free Membership Site Training from WishList Member

Last week they released a video about the 10 Membership Site Models, which I watched and found myself compelled to take notes.  One thing I learned: you can use a membership site to manage information and services rendered for consulting and coaching clients!  The information is exclusive to them, password protected, and etc.  The great thing is you can also grant support staff access to this information so they can assist coaching clients as well.  This was excellent content, did I mention it was free?

New Training Series by Wishlist Member

Today they are hosting a free call entitled, “21 membership Questions Answered LIVE!” (replay available) It will build on the theme of what you need to know to run a profitable membership site (scroll for promo video).  They are also announcing a course that will help online marketers run an effective membership site.  The course will talk about getting started strategies, content creation strategies, how to build an affiliate channel (something Stu is very experienced with), building a community, outsourcing and automation etc.  The course will fall under $500, and if it is anything like their wordpress membership site software, it will be wildly successful.  Get access to the call here.

Here’s the YouTube Video Promoting the Call:

Everyone should think twice about using WLM if you are planning to use any other plug-ins. I am having a devil of a time getting WishList to run with SimplePressForum (which I would think is a fairly standard use for a membership site) and have been talking with WL for several days through their Support network. After being asked to supply FTP access, I received the following response:

    Hi Craig,

    Thanks for the information.

Unfortunately if a plugin conflict is creating the issue, there is not much we can do in terms of helping you.

However, I will pass this on to the developers to verify that this is the case.

    Take care,

    Greg France
  • Greg-

Sorry to hear of your issues with the product. Perhaps someone from wishlist can chime in here. I guess like any software, it has bugs, issues, and workarounds. Hopefully they can satisfy your request.

How long has this product been around? How often do they come out with new features? Do they charge for new features?

WishList Member has been around since October 2008 and we now help power over 4500+ membership sites online.

New features are added all the time.

Anything that's added to the "Core" of WishList Member is included free for 1 year after your purchase. If you wish to get updates and support after 1 year there is a $47/year charge.

    Hopefully that helps.
