With the introduction of social widgets, and the paradigm shift that Facebook has made with business pages, I knew it was time to take the Facebook page to the next level. I turned to Fan Page Solutions, and wanted to share my experience with you here. In this review I discuss the custom welcome page with video opt in, the bundles they offer, their bonuses, the order process, and the one thing you need to be aware of if you are going to have a custom fan page built.
How I Got A Custom Facebook Page Done In Less than 3 Days – Complete with Opt In Form
Facebook Page Facelift
I knew it was time to spruce up the Marketingprofessor.com page at Facebook, but I didn’t have time to learn it myself, and decided to work with Andre over at Fan Page Solutions. The page was originally setup quite some time ago, so I appreciated Andre showing me where to go to configure a friendly URL (facebook.com/marketingprofessor), a good first step. Custom Welcome Page
What I really wanted to was a nice landing page for those who aren’t already fans, so that they could be welcomed, and have a chance to join marketingprofessor.com and get access to the MarketersFAQ special report right there from Facebook. This is what the welcome page is designed to do. Learn more here.
Video Welcome
Since I would be putting an opt in form on the customized page I knew that the video welcome and explanation would make sense. I wanted to give people an opportunity to join the site, giving them access to the MarketerFAQ in the process.
Here is a screenshot of the page (or you can visit it here):
Fan Page Solutions Bundles
There are 3 bundles that Andre and his team are offering, the most popular is the Gold package which includes:
- Video Fan Page Design
- Free Email Autoresponder Service (if using Aweber – repurpose your content)
- Choice of Trailer Video
- Professional Voice Over
The price for the Gold package at the time of this article is $299. A fairly robust package for what he’s including. Learn more here.
Note: Since I only needed design and not video, the package I received was the $129 design only. Andre’s team simply used the Youtube link to embed the video I already had. As such, Fan Page Solutions offered to create the design at no cost, and the offer was accepted. However, I would have gladly paid him for his top package, as I feel it is that good, and the value is there.
Bonuses
Each package includes some bonuses designed to equip marketers make the most of their marketing on Facebook. I didn’t receive the bonuses, but after speaking with Andre, he knows his stuff, and I expect the bonuses are worth it (although, I prefer full motion video over an avatar video). You can check the latest bonuses for each package here.
Order Process
After choosing your package, you are taken to a page to fill out what information to include on the Facebook welcome page. Be sure to consider carefully what you include so that your page is as effective as possible.
Something to Be Aware of If You Are Thinking of Using Fan Page Solutions
In an electronic world where everything is nearly instant, it is worth noting that this is a service, and as such people are behind it. This takes time. In my case my custom page was up with the specified details as submitted on the post order page within 3 business days. If you need a fan page right away Fan Page Solutions might not be your best option. Reality is whoever customizes your page will take time to do it. My feeling is, if you have waited this long for a custom Facebook page, waiting 3 more days for a professional looking page may be worth it. Learn more here.
