Real-Time Monitoring of Web Visitors with ClickTale

It is important to understand how useable your website is to visitors.  Google analytics offers some of this functionality, but when it comes to watching users in action; there are few choices that are affordable for internet and small businesses marketers.  I recently tested a very compelling website tool which actually records videos of your user sessions (you can see the complete ClickTale review here), there is a wealth of things you can learn by watching ‘over the shoulder’ how users interact with your site.  Today things got better with real-time monitoring (and a free trial of the service).

Real-Time Monitoring of Web Visitors with ClickTale

Now you can watch your visitors in real-time and make smart decisions mid-campaign based on user interactions with your blog or website.  Clicktale continues to improve their product, and is why MarketingProfessor.com is letting online marketers of every background know about this service.  With this latest clicktale update you can see where users are coming from, what they type, click, and scrolls – all in real-time (well, within 10 seconds for paid customers).

Traffic Isolation: By filtering the reports by traffic source, you can see what campaigns are working, and optimize them on the fly to increase conversion.

ClickTale Heatmaps

Since the ClickTale product review they have introduced heatmaps, giving a visual of user clicks, which works well when diagnosing usability of webforms, or a/b split testing  items such as web copy or design changes (updating a graphic).  This information becomes even more useful when coupled with real-time monitoring.

You can now get access to a free trial of the ClickTale Service here (Note: ‘real-time’ for the free trial is 60 seconds, whereas it is 10 seconds for paid accounts).

Thanks for providing this information, very useful. There are other services out there that provides what clicktale does or better.

Good point. However, when you consider the cost of those services they become difficult to justify, unless you have a large volume of traffic. If you have less than 1M visitors a month, this is the most cost effective solution I've seen to date… but I could be wrong.
