Review of Free SEO Plugin for WordPress by Jeff Johnson
With business blogging, it is of no value if there is no traffic. Blogs are wonderful for search engine fodder, but how do you know the blog is configured optimally for the search engines. Do you know if your blog is mis-configured it can actually irritate the search engines and discourage them from visiting? Do you have the time to review all the possible things (plugins, etc.) you can do to optimize your blog, and implement them properly so content is easily read and visited often by the search engines? I just finished installing a Free SEO Plugin for WordPress, one I wish I had a long time ago. Let me tell you more.

Highlights of This WordPress Plugin
As with any product or service, there are some positive things, and areas for improvement.
Some Positive Things Worth Noting:
- Fast. As you can see in the video, I was done in just a few minutes, installation was no a function of Jeff’s plugin (standard WordPress), but the optimization was.
- Efficient. When finished, the blog was not overloaded with a lot of plugins. Too many plugins will slow response time for any blog.
- Current. You get the latest version of the plugins right within the administration panel.
- Progress. Although not incredibly descriptive, the progress meter is helpful to understand where your site stands.
- Documentation. I didn’t mention it in the video, but the documentation is well done on Jeff’s site, there are also comment threads for users needing assistance with the plugin. …more info available here.
Some Areas for Improvement:
- But why? While the documentation is good, I didn’t find a lot of “why” information about a particular setting his plugin chose when optimizing the blog. Not a huge factor for most, but I like to understand the logic behind a particular configuration, especially SEO related.
- What’s next? While opting in is required to get the plugin, there is no information as to what is coming, can I upgrade to a paid version? What other products is he going to be informing me about after opting in? Costs? I recognize this is part of the product launch sequence, it would just be nice if there was a more information button within the administration panel of the plugin. …More info available here.
Final Take on this WordPress Plugin from Jeff Johnson
I think this is a worthwhile tool for anyone managing or starting a business blog, and strongly encourage you get your copy (especially for beginners or novices). While I don’t have the inside scoop here, based on passed experience, I imagine that it will be coming off the market soon or go to a “paid only” version. Register for your free copy here.

Hi, my name is Travis Campbell, I operate this site. I'm here to share what I can from my lessons marketing online. With sizeable investments in continuing education, various software products and services, I have had some winners, and some losers. One way I can extend what I've learned is by writing about it, here... and helping you along the way.
Thanks for the great review…definitely checking this one out!
I think it is a decent use of time, especially given it is a free plugin. And his follow up emails are actually quite good.
Jim-

yes, I tried the plugin and it works really nice.
I am kind of a fan of Jeff Johnson. I read a lot about him, his articles, and such articles written on reviews by him. I found the article explanatory enough, and the video really gave a through overview of the entire thing. I hope to follow the instructions and hope a better return from my blog.
Jeff is one of the smartest guys online right now. His stuff is of value, and while not for everyone, folks should at least take a look to see if they can benefit from his products/services.
When it comes to servicii seo and seo services there are only a handful of companies who really know what they're doing. Only these know what content is all about, fixing site issues, URL canoniclization and rewrites and getting you a lot of links.
This plugin is streamlined for some best practices for WordPress SEO, … some feature is missing.
It is all in one seo plugin and a hand full of others all in one. It is a “one stop shopping” type of software.
hey graet post, also a very good video, i will definitely try it out
thanks for sharing it with us:)
Great review! I'm actually now convinced that I should try this plugin. Thanks for this.
Rhonda is that you? I hope not a bot of yours, sometimes it is hard to tell, so forgive me if I'm off base. Yes it is a decent plugin, and Jeff has a good reputation in the industry.
I always looked for word press plug ins and I liked these plug ins.
Thank you very much for this seo information.
Thank you very much for this seo information.
I like the video about the review, traffic is the most important key for the improvement of your website that's why SEO and PPC are there to help us boost traffic towards on our site.
Can you explain its effective?
Do you mean ‘if’ it is effective? Yes it is effective, but it is lump of existing plugins, and Jeff includes his own code on the front end.
