Review of Keyword Magic – 3 Strengths 1 Weakness

Keyword research is essential at the start of any online business endeavor.  Keyword research can set you in the right direction, or put you on a tangent that can take months to recover from with the search engines.  There are quite a few keyword research tools out there to choose from, many are subject to a monthly fee yet others are one time purchase.  If you’ve spent any time doing keyword research you know some of the research can be done manually, the advantage of investing in a tool is the time saved collecting the data.  I recently received an evaluation copy of this very affordable onetime fee Keyword Magic Professional software, which is pretty impressive.  I’ve concluded it has 3 major strengths and one weakness (no software is perfect right?). Read on and see if this tool is for you.

Review of Keyword Magic – 3 Strengths 1 Weakness

There are several ways to go about keyword research; I believe the most cost effective way is to use one of the many keyword research tools out there.  Today’s review covers a keyword research product that is easy to use and quite affordable.  Let’s move on to the 3 strengths and 1 weakness of the product.

Strength 1 – Keyword Magic Professional User Interface

After the speedy install, I found it opened fast and the user interface immediately reminded me of Microsoft Office application.  Simple, intuitive, and clean.  I quickly discovered there are 4 main areas of the interface.  Watch the Video of Keyword Magic Pro on their site.

Image 4: This section allows for removal of duplicate keywords, leading and trailing characters, and unwanted terms.  It also allows users to specify a prefix (like “best price on”) or suffix (“in Denver”) as you move selected keywords into the next pane…

The settings area allows users to configure a proxy server (if they hammer Google too hard with search requests, Google will block the searcher for a short period of time) to avoid any issues with Google.  It also allows users to set the search qualifiers, this is important, especially with the allintitle option which helps you understand how many pages on the internet have your keyphrase in the pages title tag (suggesting it is weighted more heavily by Google. Competition data allows you to refine what is searched, and settings for PPC related costs are determined here as well.  Lastly, you can switch to any Google search for language and country in the drop down list.

Strength 2 – Keyword Magic Professional Real-Time Filters

This actually ties to first strength, after the results appear (Image 2), you can modify the filters (Image 3), and the results appear instantly in the results window.  The filter allows you to show or remove keywords containing, you can also specify minimum and maximum numbers of words, searches, and competitors. The keywords change while you modify the filter.

Strength 3 – Keyword Magic Professional THE PRICE

$29. Wow.  It’s hard to believe a product of this caliber is priced so low.  I’ll be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if the price changed at some point in the future.  Yet, at the time of this post it is a mere $29. Learn more about Keyword Magic Pro here.

1 Weakness – Well, Maybe 2

The one thing that this tool is, is Google centric. The data it pulls only comes from Google via use of the Google API.  There are other search engines out there that are shaking up the market, that Keyword Magic Pro does not account for.  That said, most of what Google reflects in volume for profitable keyphrases in most markets are proportional to those of competing search engines.  If you need the other search engines, including YouTube (yes, that too is a search engine), then have a look at the Keyword Research Pro review here.

The possible other weakness, though minor, is it runs on a PC only, no Mac support, so if you are a Mac user, heads up.

My Take On Keyword Magic Professional
