Review of The Twitter Method from Tom Deeter and Jack Humphrey
Twitter has taken the internet by storm, and with all the buzz there has been a rush of both paid and free products to help you do any number of things with Twitter, not the least of which is grow your followers. Having looked into Twitter for some time, I have also looked at many products, many of which were not publicly reviewed here, as they were often too transient in nature, on not consistent with a sustainable business model. The Twitter Method is intriguing, and in this post, I’ll talk about what the Twitter Method is, what I like about it, what I don’t like about it, an interview (video) with the creator, and where you can go to get more (free) information, and make your own call.
Review of The Twitter Method from Tom Deeter and Jack Humphrey
Early on, the emphasis on Twitter was to build a large number of followers. On this site, there have been reviews of software to help grow your twitter followers, and this emphasis still remains prominent among most twitter users, but some are moving away from that entirely. This is one of the things that intrigued me about The Twitter Method.
What Is The Twitter Method
Essentially, it is a series of 15-18 strategies for using Twitter to add genuine value to the community of Twitter users, while being rewarded by way of affiliate commissions. It covers the real issues when communicating on Twitter (leave your sales pitches at home), and how to overcome them in a way that is comfortable to you, yet compelling to the readers of your tweets.
The strategies and tactics are compiled in a very well written (not with a huge font type) 50+ page ebook to help the reader become a real-time marketer. Find out more about the Twitter Method here…
What I Like About the Twitter Method
Real-World Specific Examples As an experienced Twitter user, it was apparent to me early on, that there was much to learn from what was presented in the ebook. What did it for me was the real examples I found in the document many of which I faced but, to that point, didn’t have a satisfactory solution for. These point solutions were straightforward, and simple to implement.
Sustainable Business Model, this was big for me as I’m trying to avoid reinventing my business ever few months due to changes in technology. Therefore I’m interested in moving forward with lasting business models. I found the whole body of work that is The Twitter Method, to be a lasting business model and believe it will move fluidly with any changes Twitter or the next burgeoning social network platform may introduce (transferable).
Free Tools it was obvious to me that Tom Deeter had spent quite a bit of time proving his model, based on all the tools and online services (mostly free) that he highlights in The Twitter Method ebook. These aren’t just fun tools to use, rather they are the ones he uses in order to support the strategies and tactics he espouses in the ebook. He knows his stuff, and I found he shared these resources with the finest detail. Find out more about the Twitter Method here…
What I Don’t Like About the Twitter Method
Each of the items below are valid concerns, however, they are also being addressed in a software and training product Tom and his partner Jack Humphrey (of BlogSuccess fame) have created and are soon making available.
Manual Operations as you might understand, I can be a little picky, and truth is no product or service is without some flaws, or at least having areas needing improvement. The reality is in order to effectively implement the strategies (you don’t have to do all of them, you can make major headway with just a couple), you will have to invoke several online services to help you. This means you have to login and set them up, and then monitor them, making adjustments along the way. I believe it is well worth it, however if you are looking for something on total auto-pilot, this isn’t it.
Market is Changing Quickly as with any technology enabled service, things are changing f-a-s-t. It is possible that some of the tools he recommends to implement his strategies today, might not be valid or applicable due to some technology change in the future. To his credit he has put out at least one update to The Twitter Method since I paid for my copy back in June.
What I appreciate about Tom and Jack’s approach is that they understand these concerns, and are not leaving customers high and dry. They are offering a software product that will solve many of these problems (R.A.I.S.E.), as well as a membership site to continue to educate customers as the market changes. Both I find to be at a very reasonable price.
Interview With The Twitter Method Creator – Tom Deeter
I was able to get Tom Deeter to do an impromptu interview via Skype. My apologies for the quality, but it will give you a better idea who he is and what he is about, if you haven’t met him before. Find out more about the Twitter Method here…

Where to Find Out More about The Twitter Method
Today they are making The Twitter Method available to the general public, and sharing some strategies at minimal cost (DVD). They call it “The Twitter Toolkit”. In it, Tom shares 7 of his strategies from The Twitter Method. He also shares a tactic in the introduction video on this page. I’m not sure how long they will keep it open, but let me encourage you to take action and learn from these guys. They are some of the smartest people I’ve come across regarding Twitter marketing and monetization. I found it to be time well spent.
