What has the #1 ranking on CNET in the SEO tools category with nearly 200,000 downloads and is one of the tools we use with clients as well as our own SEO and Traffic analysis software? (Hint: post title) If you guessed Traffic Travis, you’d be correct. Unfortunately, the name of this software has no connection with the person writing this post! The software has been around the block a few times we’ve not had a reason to review it until now.
Review of Traffic Travis – Latest Update
May 4th UPDATE: The creator of Traffic Travis which recently released, has announced a special webinar: Super Affiliate Millionaire Secrets is running at several times today only. Looks to be a solid webinar from a guy with a proven experience and reputation.
Recently I got my hands on the latest version of Traffic Travis, after a skype chat with Mark Ling, the creator of the software. The latest version of the this software makes it easier than ever for online marketers to understand and track their rankings, their competition, and the effectiveness (optimization) of their web pages.
In this post, I’ll cover the 4 main areas of the user interface, what I like, what I don’t like, what you should be aware of it you are considering buying this product, and how they are selling the software.
You can have a look at the latest version of Traffic Travis here (you’ll see the launch pricing and the special bonuses on that page).
Main Areas of the Traffic Travis Interface
Dashboard Tab
The dashboard gives users an at-a-glance view of a given project. There is a dropdown in the corner of the interface which allows you to switch projects quickly. The dashboard exposes major indicators including, Page Rank, Alexa Rank, Pages Indexed, Rank in top 5 and top 10, Top 5 Ranked Keywords, Backlinks, and Top 5 Backlinks.
My Site Tab
This displays pages for your site, and for each page, reports the page rank, number of backlinks, any page warnings, it also uses a combination slider bars, a dropdown, and text filter to narrow down what pages are displayed in the report.
From here you can import pages (via Sitemap), update pages, and generate a printable site report.
Research Tab
Keyword: By putting in the keywords you want to target, you can quickly see how competitive certain keywords are, complete with a “Difficulty Level” ranking from Traffic Travis, reflecting how easy it might be to rank for a given keyword. Note: While not required, this feature prompts for Adsense login credentials, which makes searches go much faster.
Domain: Enter keywords on the domain tab, to quickly find suggestions for keyword rich domains. This is especially useful for those in affiliate marketing. Learn More About Traffic Travis here.
SEO Tab
Ranking: For each project/site configured, there are a list of keywords users designate that a given site is targeting. The ranking page shows you how well the site is ranking for those keywords, and the best page if you have multiple pages ranking for a keyword.
Competition: plugin your keywords, and see the top ranked sites. It specifies the URL found, a Score (Traffic Travis calculates), Page Rank, Backlink Count, Domain Count (how many unique domains are backlinking to the site), and IP Count.
Backlinks: Reveals backlink detail for each of your analyzed pages, including total backlinks, domains, IP addresses, and page rank. Additional subtabs reveal link counts, Moz Rank, PR, and Alexa Rank.
Linkfinder: This tool helps website owners find pages on the internet that would be ideal for backlinks based on the keywords entered. It specifies all the elements of link authority should be considered when getting quality backlinks (see screenshot below).
Use the filters to display the page type (page, forum, blog), if they follow links, page rank, and etc. Learn More About Traffic Travis here.
PPC Tab
Designed to give online marketers what they need for adwords and adsense campaigns.
Adsense Finder: displays a breakdown of each of the top ranking URLs that have adsense on their page for the keywords and search engines selected. Shows the position in the search engines, page rank, alexa rank, and adsense ads details.
Adwords Competition: Keep an eye on competition, offers data over time by keyword, or by website.
By keyword- Over time the software can display the percent of time an ad displayed for a website, for a given keyword. While not as comprehensive as Adbeat, this information can illuminate profitable keywords of your competitors.
By website- The display shows how many ad matches per website. Keywords per website, which search engine, how often Traffic Travis has checked, and the percentage the ads were run based on the number of times Traffic Travis has checked. Selecting the result, will display the ad rank and actual ad run. Learn More About Traffic Travis here.
What I Like About Travis Travis
There was obviously a lot of thought that went into, not only the data the software collects, but the user interface with one exception (shared below), is a home run. All screens are intuitive, and the training videos that embedded in the software do an outstanding job demonstrating how the software presents data, as well as the user options.
What I Don’t Like About Traffic Travis
Whenever hitting a button to query for information, it presents a green animated dial, informs the users that this could take a few seconds. This is helpful, but not as helpful as it could be. Some places it states it is on page 14 of 35, but it would be more helpful to know a percent complete, what I thought would take “a few seconds” on some queries, actually took a few minutes or more. I also found that the Research-Domain tool sometimes returned zero results with no explanation. Perhaps too low a search volume for the keyword entered? I have no idea, because it didn’t tell me.
Something You Should Be Aware of With Traffic Travis
Let me say, to start I have reviewed the product video training that is embedded right in the application (screenshot below), and all the bonuses Mark Ling is offering for the launch, and they are excellent. I don’t say that for many products, but he and his team have put together a high quality product, and very useful bonuses. However, if you are in the US, you might find his accent (New Zealand) hard to follow at times. I was able to endure without much difficulty, but others may find it somewhat distracting.
What Is Involved in Purchasing Traffic Travis
As they recently released a new version of Traffic Travis, they are including several bonuses that I have reviewed. You can review the details on the sales page, but they are designed to help marketers get more backlinks, higher rankings, and convert more leads to sales, and are of high quality. Early pricing is subject to change, but at the time of this post is under $100.
