Boost Your LinkedIn Marketing with Slides
As a continuation of the ‘extending your reach’ tone of recent articles, I’d like to share yet another way to do just that. If you have ever presented publicly let me encourage you to use that content for other purposes. If you haven’t, now may be a great time to get your best ideas down in presentation format for automatic sharing on your LinkedIn profile.
Boost Your LinkedIn Marketing with Slides
LinkedIn a Place for Business Professionals
You’ve heard of it, right? LinkedIn, a place where you can store your virtual resume’, connect with current and passed colleagues, give and receive recommendations, and interact with others. In the process there is exposure for you and your skill set (I’m here on LinkedIn if you like). LinkedIn is something that should be a part of your social marketing strategy. What if you put your resume’ in a slide show, or if you are a small business, shared your a client success story in a slide show? How about any slide show that would be good, targeted exposure for your business, and appear automatically in your LinkedIn account after uploading it??
LinkedIn Marketing, 2 Ways to Present in LinkedIn
There are two places you can post your slideshows for sharing on your LinkedIn profile, Slideshare.net, and if you are a Google Docs user, you can use their Presentations application.
Here’s a 2 slide presentation (with a video) I’ve embedded here from Slideshare.
Once you have your account setup at one of these services, you then need to install the LinkedIn application to tie presentations to your LinkedIn account.
Setup, took me 22 seconds: While logged into LinkedIn, simply visit this page, and choose the proper application (slideshare or Google Presentations). After completing the installation, existing connections who visit your page, will now automatically see current and future presentations for the account you’ve configured.
It’s All In the Presentation
Tip 1: It’s important to note that your presentation has to be able to stand on it’s own. You don’t have the benefit of discussing the content of your slides with the audience, so keep that in mind.
Tip 2: Also, and this is a key LinkedIn marketing tip, be sure that your presentation contains the proper language (key phrases) that people searching online (or on LinkedIn) would use to find the information you are offering.
LinkedIn is a great resource for both talent and job seekers, and a great social marketing strategy. Having relevant presentations appear automatically on your profile is a great way to stand out from the competition. This is an easy, one time setup that could pay you dividends for some time to come.

Hi, my name is Travis Campbell, I operate this site. I'm here to share what I can from my lessons marketing online. With sizeable investments in continuing education, various software products and services, I have had some winners, and some losers. One way I can extend what I've learned is by writing about it, here... and helping you along the way.
